TEHRAN, Apr. 04 (MNA) – The 52nd Bologna Children’s Book Fair concluded with the possible attendance of the fair’s exhibition manager at Tehran International Book Fair and the selection of Iran as the fair’s guest of honor.

The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the most important international event dedicated to the children’s publishing and multimedia industry.

The Iranian Cultural Fairs Institute, affiliated to Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance took part in the 2015 Bologna Book Fair, Italy, showcasing over 300 book titles.

The fair was attended by over 1,200 publishers and exhibitors representing 75 countries from around the world. Iran’s 32-square-meter stand made use of the event to network with writers, illustrators and publishers dedicated to children’s literature in order to familiarize them with the potential of the Iranian children's literature to be translated and published abroad. It also invited foreign publishers to attend the 28th edition of Tehran International Book Fair taking place from 6-16 May, 2015.

A session on the potentials of the Iranian children's literature in the world was also held on March 31 at Authors Café. The speakers included Maurizio Silvio Pistoso, Dipartimento di Storia Culture Civiltà (University of Bologna); Lili Hayeri Yazdi, Kia literary agency; Jeanne Dalgaard, Jensen & Dalgaard Publishing House; and Mehryar Ghaderi, cultural liaison.

An invitation letter signed by the Deputy of Tehran International Book Fair Amir-Masoud Shahramnia was also presented to the exhibition manager of Bologna Children’s Book Fair Roberta Chinni.

Ms. Chinni said that her participation at Tehran International Book Fair would be a great honor and that she would do her best to attend the event.
